Today we sprung forward, which left us a little discombobulated and bleary-eyed. Still, the increase in light is causing cheeriness to bubble up in everyone, along with a general feeling that we have made it through.
E5N1's excitement of the week was finding out that he was the "cavity-free club" winner of the month at our dentist. He popped in to have his gappy grin photographed for the bulletin board and to take delivery of a gift card. Now, if only this would encourage him to brush without needing to be reminded...
E5N1 was also "Star of the week" in class, which meant that he got some special duties and I got to go in and read a story. As there was time left after we finished the story, I shared a little about the country of my birth. Having a British teacher at the school, they were spot on with guessing Great Britain and the United Kingdom but Wales itself? Never heard of it. I suspect even E5N1's teacher was hard pressed to find it on the classroom map. E5N1 leapt up when I explained that it wasn't spelt W-H-A-L-E-S and he triumphantly wrote WAILS on the board - strangely appropriate somehow.
The question they all really wanted answered, however, was, "Is Paddington a real station?" It seemed to make them very happy to know that it is.
