On Saturday, we wanted to go for a walk in the cold sunny afternoon, but conditions were not great underfoot - so we decided to use nature's snow-clearance expert's help - and walked on the beach at low tide.
At this time of year there are many large empty beaches to choose from - this time we went to Fortunes Rocks Beach in Biddeford.

We saw a loon a little way offshore:
And the early-setting sun made for some pretty sights:
