Day 7.358: Christmas, winter and old snowman noses

My day started with a dawn run. The temperature was 12 °F (-11 °C) but it was dry and not windy so I was quite happy.

The rest of the morning was spent de-Christmassing the house. I suggested we were "corating" it, since that should be the opposite of "decorating", but no-one was convinced.

Later, Exile #3 and E5N1 found this carrot that had belonged to Pigtails (the kids' November snowman) nose decayed and frozen to a twig:

In our New York yard, they never lasted long - usually eaten by a passing deer, but if not, by smaller creatures. It has now been covered in snow, which arrived just in time to avoid our yard becoming snow-less (even though we haven't had any accumulation since Thanksgiving):

It's set to warm up overnight and tomorrow before turning cold again, so it's not clear how this fall of snow will play out at all.
