On Sunday morning, we decided a short walk was in order to make the most of the not-yet-oppressively-hot conditions and to not overdo it following our mountain-climbing on Saturday.
Our Saco Bay Trails guide suggested a rather easily missed walk along the river near the city of Saco. This is some of what we saw.
Some birds including an osprey with a large recently caught meal:
as well as various other birds I didn't get decent photographs of.
Some flowers, berries and views of Saco, Biddeford and the girls disappearing into the distance:
When we came out into downtown Saco at the western end of the trail, we went to Fernleaf Bakery and Coffee House for a reviving drink and a cool sit-down. Three members of the party turned it into a little tea party:
which, now I write it, seems a rather British thing to do.
